A quick blogs from mes Sasha. Mommy gots a new laptop computer from Grandma and Grandpas for Christmas a little early. We have been having a blast skyping and all with it. Mommy and I thought it just wouldn't be ours unless we doxiefied it. So Mommy ordered a very special custom decal sticky thingy from DisaDesigns on ETSY. I thinks you might recognize this doxie diva's face pawhaps.
Well, I gives a four paws up approval on this pawduct and the shop, too. The seller was awesome pawsome. She communicated with mommy every step of the way in the creation process and even tweeked the colors so I can be black and tan and not tan and black. heehees. Well, both me and mommy loves it. I knows it will scare the evil computer hacking squirrels away fursure! So ifs you critters out there all wants to get your furry faces on your human's stuff then head on over to DisaDesigns.

Dachshund Book Review: Hairy Pawter/ Harry Potter?
Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone Book 1:
Sasha here. Time for another dachshund book review. I decided to read the Harry Potter series with my Mommy. She had read the series before, and figured I was now old enough to read it with her. So we started reading the series together. The first book is what I will bark about today.
First of all, I think his name should have been Hairy Pawter especially if they ever do a dachshund version.
I liked the book. The idea of an orphan discovering he has magic and then is like a major super star among the magical people has got to be pretty cool. I like how there is a good and evil force in the book and how sometimes he just didn't know who he could trust or not trust. The whole idea that sometimes doing the right thing can lead you into trouble. Like me barking at the evil squirrels, but that is getting off the point again.
The book also reminds me of traditional Greek mythology where the hero who is a very ordinary human with major flaws has to battle so many unearthly challenges to somehow gain a prize for the greater good. Dumbledore is defiantly a god like figure that leads Harry to choose the right path through all his challenges. The other teachers to play a similar role just like the ancient Greek gods and goddesses with their unique powers or gifts.
Then, there was Harry's friends, Ron and Hermione. I believe this is where the plot deviates from the traditional Greek hero like stories. For Harry, he doesn't face everything alone. Even though he feels lonely throughout the book and in the end he does battle the evil one by himself, I feel his friendship is what makes the story pop. To have true friends that will die and suffer for you if need be really is pretty darn cool for a human pup of only 11 years of age.
In the end, the question throughout the book was which character was the force of evil and when faced with that evil what will Harry do? Well, you will have to read the book to find that out.

I got snubbed today.
Sasha here. A quick blog before bed. You knows how we put out all the good table scrapes and leftovers for the big green monster to come and eat once a week. Well, you see Charlie and me had been piling up the poo as a special treat for it. Mommy put the bag in it after collecting our donations. Today, the monster ate all the leftovers and other treats, but left the bag of poo at the bottom of the trash can. Mommy said that it smelled horrible and probably will smell even worse by next week with double poo rations. I so do not like getting snubbed by the big green monster cause I really don't want to be next on its menu.

Sasha's State Of The Economy Report!
Well, I thinks it is bad when birds are losing their homes, too! I figure this is either a nestclosure (foreclosure for birds) or an example of low income housing. Either way it isn't good for the feathered ones at all!

The Tunnel!
Hi all,
Your furry friend Sasha here. The electrician is gone for now and he left behind something really cool- a big, giant tunnel!! I has been trying to explores it, but Mommy always barks at me in that I'm going to be in trouble human bark when I get too close. I only fell in once and that was cause I wanted to bark with the neighbor dog, rocky, before I realized it was "booby trapped". Mommy gave me a paw and lifted me out with no harm done, but the tunnel is still pretty cool. I kind of wish mommy will lets the guy keep it that way after the chief inspector sniffer guy comes and gives the paws up sign on the electrician's work. If not, I wonders if grandma will let me dig my own? Bark at you all later.

Someone give the chihuahua a chill pill!
Sasha here. Yesterday, mommy was puppy sitting my chihuahua cousin Maddie. You all know Maddie doesn't like me at all so why mommy had her stay with us I just don't understand. As always, I was the perfect wiener dog host. I lets her sleep under the blankie. I even let my mommy have her on her lap. I even didn't have issues when mommy hand fed kibble to the little spoiled princess several times a day instead of just twice likes me. I shared my water bowl, which she refused to drink out of. I even let her play with one of my tug toys, but she refused it, too. I really need a doggy girl friend to hang with that doesn't give me attitude!

Photo tag game-A dachshund does it all wrong.
Picture Story By Sasha: "I smells something stinky Mommy, and it's coming from my brother's rear end."
Sasha here.
Mommy and I's got tagged by Miss Shari's and Velvet's blog so I guess the humans have come up with a silly game that doesn't even involve running, leaping, pouncing, and rolling another dog into submission. Not sure the fun in it, but I is willing to gives it a try. Apparently, the rules are:
1. open your first photo folder- Which I dids. This whole folder thing is really weird for dogs cause we think there should be two folders one with our pics and one without. But, the humans don't see it that way, and mommy has way too many of them. Outdoor Sasha pics, videos, product pics, month date pics, and so forth.
2. scroll to the tenth photo- Well, the first one didn't have ten. So I went to the next folder, nope stuck again. Can you believe I's must have gone through like 40 folders to find one with ten in it. I think my mom has too many folders. She organizes them into folders within folders within folders and so forth.
3. post the photo and the story behind it- Ok I is going to do that in just a sec. (up above)
4. Tag five or more people - So hows I suppose to tag them anyway. I is a wiener dog for heaven's sake! I can't sniff five people out from here. Ok, this is so confusing. Can I just roll over and summit to you now and say you win. No. Not how you plays the game you say. Well, this wiener dog is changing the rules on this one. Basically, if you have a human that wants to play this game or a squirrel you can bribe to do it for you then go for it. Your it. Otherwise, enjoy the pic and have a nice night from the grumpy tired dachshund. If you do it, please leave a link in the comments bellow or have the squirrel do its for you, too.

I gots a pedicure today!
I gots to go on a car ride to the groomers. The lady there did my nails and made them all nice and pretty. No more snagging on the carpet or blankies for awhile. I is very happy about that, and on the way out. I saw a senior doxie gentleman. He was very nice. He couldn't see me very well, but we exchanged sniffs any way. Don't see doxies much at my groomers so it was a bit of a surprise.
We got home, and mommy took lots of cute pics of me to make items out of later. I just hopes I don't become some hideous monster or something after mommy is done playing around with them on the computer. Woofs to you all.

Tis The Season To Be Jolly!
Hi all.
Your cute little furry Santa dachshund here, Sasha. We have our tree up and of course it has dachshund ornaments on it. Miss Suz, you know the human that lives where I goes for my play dates paw makes the best clay doxie ornaments. Mommy has two of her creations on our tree that look a lot like me. She sales on E-BAY and ETSY in case anyone wants some of her lovely creations. Well, just stopped in to share pics of me in my Santa hat and the doxie ornaments. I am still working on my draft to my letter to Santa Paws this year. I am trying so hard to be good, but you know it is really hard for a dachshund to be good all year long. Take care all.

It'S SNOWING SOMEBUDDY MAKE IT STOP!

Your furry friend Sasha here. It is snowing and I hate cold white stuff in my fur. I hate wearing my coat cause I prefer to be nakey, and most of all my paws are cold and wet. Some one send some sunshine up our way. We poor, cold, wet wiener dogs would prefer a little global warming right about now.
Well, in between the snow torture potty trips, your little wiener dog buddy here has been busy holiday window shopping on line. Cause you know us doxie shoppers are always welcome on the net. (We avoid all those nasty no dogs allowed signs that way.) Listed in pictures above is a few pictures of my paw picked items from some of my faves on ETSY. Click on pictures above to get dirrect links to each of these items and the etsy stores ylbb, redwagonwiener, jellybeanjunction, persnicketypelican, and LaughingFridge.

Mommy gave me a bath today.:(
Sasha here again,
Mommy gave me a bath today. I thought for sure she had forgotten all about that nasty b-word. Then, today, I followed her into the bathroom like I always do. She takes off my collar. No big deal. I thought ok were is the camera for my photo shoot. Then, I saw the doggy shampoo bottle. You know whoever thought puke green shampoo with the nasty medicated smell should have a happy dog on the bottle is just one sick puppy. Mommy got into the shower, and she called me. I knew what I was in for, but I came reluctantly. I waited shaking knowing the dreaded water was getting warmed up for me. I stood there bravely as she sprayed me with the evil shower spray hose thingy. I stayed still when she put the stinky green yucky smelling shampoo all in my fur. Then, when she was reaching for the hose again. I shook it all over. Fur and foam went everywhere. I got my revenge, and then I got drenched with the hose thingy again. All I can say to this torture is "Doxies don't get mad, we get even!". I gave mommy the pout face all night. If I think she has learned her lesson by bed time, I might snuggle with her then.
Oh, and on a side note. Thanks to all my voters for me in the photo contest. I am in first place barely. Keep the votes coming in with a unique name signature so they don't get deleted. I just might win this thing this time with all your help. I got my paws crossed. Doxie kisses to you all.

Naked Puppy Pic In Photo Contest!

Hello all,
Sasha here. It is that time of month again and yes I am entered once again in the petsjubilee team pet photo contest to win that yummy box of treats and prezzies that I dream to have. Wiener dogs never give up you know.
This time mommy had me worried for awhile cause she said she was going to post one of my naked puppy pics for the contest. I am lucky she picked a cute one and not one with my head stuck in a rice cake bag or bath time in the kitchen sink or anything embarrassing like that.
Well, please, click at the furbabies link here to see my contest Naked Puppy Pic, and if you are ever so kind vote for me by leaving a comment at that link also. You need to sign it with a unique name because the rules state the same person can only vote once per day. So if another Tom or Fred voted on another pets photo yours won't count. Agggh, and I gets very sad when votes get deleted. You don't want to see a sad wiener dog do you?
Take care all, and don't forget to vote. Pretty please, with kibble on top.
(Voting starts at 12:01 EST 9/21/09 to 12:00 noon EST 9/27/09. So one week to vote folks. Pass the bark along to others.)

The Day The Mail Came Twice!
Sasha, the worried doxie here. Is the sky falling? Is Christmas going to be earlier this year? Are aliens invading the world via the USPS? Is the world going to end and the doxie is the last one to know about it?
Today the mail truck came twice and neither one was the nice lady who pets me occasionally when Mommy and me go get the mail. What the heck is going on? You know us dachshunds don't take change well. The postal employees must know that we dogs need notification on these kinds of things. Off to check the dachshund bark line to see if they know anything. Woof Woof........

I gots a pedicure today!
Hi all. Your doxie friend Sasha here. I finally convinced Mommy that I needed my nails done. I guess the chewing on them constantly finally convinced her. She took me to my groomer to do it as always, but there must have been a first timer there today cause boy that pooch was howling and yawling something horrible when I walked in. It made me a bit scared you know like how you humans get at the doctors or dentist if you hear a lot of yelling and crying going on. Mommy carried me in, and after a few pets I realized the poor dog was just be missing his family. You know those big dogs are really big babies when their mommies and daddies aren't there. Well, I got my nails done. Nice and short. No more snags on the rugs when zooming. Mommy said she might even paint them again soon.
Well, the rest of the afternoon was mostly play time now that I can doxiehoover again. Then, took a short nap while Mommy was making her new doxie 2010 calendar. It stars me of course in some rather yummy photos and is for sale in our etsy shop. I will post pics.
Well, off to do some late night worm hunting, They ran the sprinklers late this evening and all the big juicy ones pop up about this time. Night all.

The battle at my water bowl!

The death of a sandbox.
Hi all,
Sasha here. Yes, my precious sandbox has been taken from me. The guys working on grandma and grandpa's new shed pored little rocks and other stuff, and bulldozed it right over. No one asked the doxie about taring down her sandbox to put up a stinky shed. So what if the ants and bugs and weeds take over it in the summer. It is my domain and not fair to have it demolished. I am very upset right now. I can't believe the humans did this to me. Where am I suppose to practice my digging skills now? And no more doxie dump truck driving. I think I am off to pout some more. Here is a video of the good times last year with my sandbox in honor of its demise.

Dachshund Team new member and my poor tail.
Hi all,
It has been an interesting day today. We got another new dachshund team member. Yip Yap Furray! Jessica does the cutest cartoon doxies, and she draws way better than my mommy. Check out her store at chloejessica. She is really new to etsy too, and her shop cold really use some views. So please give her a click or two for me please with kibble on top.
Second, Mommy got two treasuries. One in treasury west which is all about what kissing leads to. And yes, us wiener dogs are in it, too. It is called Kissing. The main treasury mommy just got after waiting all afternoon. Two hours is a lot longer than they say on etsy. It is Doxie Arfist Unleashed. And all about us. So you have to peek at that one. Must see for doxie lovers like yourself.
Third, my precious tail got stepped on by grandpa today. Those big human feet with shoes hurt so bad. I yipped and yapped and yowled. Grandpa petted me and said he was sorry, but it still hurt. The next time he went walking by I hid behind Mommy's legs and quick. So folks watch out for use little short long ones down here, please. My tail is OK now, but I am not going to forget that anytime soon.

New Dachshund Team Member!

Hi all,
It's me Sasha. I just wanted to introduce our newest dachshund team member SophiesThreads. Addie the etsy shop owner makes harnesses and collars that are so cute and functional. She has three furkids and started designing the harnesses for her two dachshunds. As many of you know, it is hard to find stylish and well made harnesses out there for our long bodies. I myself can't seem to were my pretty outfits with a harness on. These combine an outfit with a harness in such a cool way. There are pics above of two of her cool products for sale in her etsy shop. Well, welcome to Addie, her furkids, and her unique shop to our little etsy Dachshund Team. Yip Yap Furray!
On other news, apparently mommy was informed by a good friend that our blog's comments were broken. She thinks she fixed it so hopefully we will be getting comments again. Sorry for all those that have tried to post recently. I blame the squirrels. They tend to be mischievous in undermining dachshund communication lines. Well, take care all. Woofs to you and the furkids out there.

It's Me!
Ok Sasha here.
Mommy got another treasury west this morning. It is called If Wishes Were Fishes. This one is interactive with magic fish. heehee. Close your eyes, make a wish, and click a fish. Hope your wish comes true. I am wishing for more treats today. I better click one of the really expensive fish for that one. heehee.
Good news. A friend of ours made a black and tan doxie that looks just like me by knitting. She did a great job, and it can use a good home now. It is at niftyknits.etsy.com. What do you think Sassy Sasha 2? Well, I likes it and am going to be promoting it to it sales.
Mommy has been crafting like crazy again. She has a new bookmark set that she made cute little cartoon wiener dogs and some new cards. They will be in our store eventually. Well, off to go chase some squirrels or something. Take care.
